"Hunting at First Light"

"Hunting at First Light" shows the viewer a quiet lake that mirrors the vibrant autumn forest, its surface broken only by the explosive takeoff of ducks launching into the dawn sky. Their powerful wingbeats send concentric ripples across the water, disrupting the perfect reflections of scarlet and gold leaves that moments before had painted the surface.
The surrounding woods blaze with fall color. Towering maples display crimson foliage while birch trees shimmer with golden leaves, all framed by steadfast evergreens.
The ducks form a dynamic diagonal across the composition, their wings captured at various stages of motion. Beneath them, the water alternates between disturbed ripples and patches of glassy calm where the forest's reflection remains intact. It freezes that magical moment when stillness gives way to motion, when the peace of morning yields to the day's first activity.
