"Birch Tree Sunset"

"Birch Tree Sunset" is a mixed media piece of soft pastel on a hand drawn digital background measuring 13"W x 19"H.

A cluster of slender birch trunks fills the frame, their pale bark glowing with the warm light of evening. The trees stand close together, their black fissures and peeling curls of white bark rendered in delicate detail. Behind them, a sunset sky melts into hues of apricot and pink, its colors softly reflected on the smooth birch surfaces.

In the distance, a line of dark pine trees creates a jagged silhouette against the luminous sky. The forest floor between the birches and pines is dappled with long shadows and fading golden light, suggesting fallen leaves and soft moss. The close cropping of the birch trunks gives the scene an intimate, immersive quality, as if the viewer stands within the grove themselves.

** Please note: Each of the original pastel paintings have been created, handled, and stored by the artist. As a result, they may carry gentle evidence of the studio process—subtle surface variations, rough edges, or marks from moving and storage. These are not defects but part of the unique character of an original work.
